The Eurobarometer survey is designed to provide regular monitoring of public social and political attitudes in the EU through specific trend questions. Therefore, the general aim of EB is to know the attitudes and evaluations of European citizens about large general themes. The questions concern to the European integration issues, but sometimes they regard also specific problem about single country or common problems of economic, political or social nature.
The arguments of Eurobarometer 83.4 are as follows:
- Climate change: appraisal of the problem, responsibility and political measures, personal action, the national government’s energy targets;
- Biodiversity: awareness of biodiversity and worries about its loss, awareness of threats for biodiversity and attitudes towards protection measures on EU level, and personal efforts to protect nature and biodiversity;
- Discrimination: awareness of and experience with discrimination against ethnic origin, sexual orientation, age, sex, religion od beliefs, disability, and gender identity; attitudes towards discrimination and diversity issues in politics, at work, in the media and in personal life, as well as towards measures against discrimination; contact with minority groups and religious denomination.
