ICPSR
– Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research
– is an archive born in 1962 by the University of Michigan. It was
founded initially like collaboration between 21 American Universities
and actually it includes 325 Colleges and U.S. and Canadian Universities,
beyond to hundred of institution from Europe, Oceania, Asia and Latin
America. The participants institutions to ICPSR that reside out of USA
and Canada must address to their own national representative for any information
and data.
For adhesion to ICPSR it has been created a network of Italian Universities
that together have acquired the membership. |

The Department of Sociology and Social Research
of the University of Milan – Bicocca is the Italian Official exponent
of the network, and it constitutes also the Italian representative to
ICPSR. In particular, ADPSS-Sociodata manages the relationships, demands
and the recordings of the consortium data. The Italian network, that it
constituted in December 1999, subsequently it has been broadened. The
main aim is to facilitate the inter-university cooperation supporting
the promotion of common researches and the data exchanges at the singles
Departments.
