Documentation

A good documentation of data archived is an advantage both for their availability and for their usability for social research. For this reason, the main international data archives have prepared some important documents about the methods of data archiving.

Beginning from this documents, it has been realised a pamphlet called “Good Practice in Data Documentation” which have two aims. On one hand, this document constitutes an useful tool for who supplies datasets to ADPSS-Sociodata. On the other hand, it represents an instrument of knowledge about the main aspects of data archiving (questionnaires, codebook, datasets, etc), which are rigorously and simply explained through some examples.
